Immigrant integration leaders put focus on civil rights, active citizenship and proven solutions for benefitting all communities
(Baltimore, MD) — The National Immigrant Integration Conference 2012 (NIIC) drew more than 800 immigrant integration leaders and advocates to Baltimore, Md. for the largest national gathering of its kind. Conference programming was designed to tackle some of the toughest issues facing immigrants today, including threats to civil rights, difficulties in accessing public education, and barriers to becoming active and engaged citizens. Participants focused on finding practical solutions to ensure immigrants can overcome these and other challenges and have the opportunity to become integral members of the U.S. communities they call home.
